Vaccinations

Always remember to keep your horse healthy, they train easier. Vaccinations are a must. Every year they need Eastern & Western Encephalomyelitis, Influenza (A1/A2 strains), Rhinopneumonitis and Tetanus. De-worming programs are very important. If a horse is wormy their coat may be dull,  they may have more hair then normal or ribs could be showing. Sanitation is one way to help this situation. Keep their feed and watering items very clean, also their paddocks or stalls. There are different programs you can use. If you only have a few horses you can take a fecal sample into the veterinarian to see if you need to de-worm. You can also use a two month de-worming program.  Ask your veterinarian which is best. There are many products out there on the market so if you remember to look at the ingredients not just the name of product you will do okay. Always remember to rotate your ingredients. At different times of the year you need the product that will kill certain types of worms. If you take samples to the veterinarian, they will suggest the right de-wormer for your horses needs.
