The Siberian Husky is a friend for life.

They are known all over the world as being friendly, playful dogs who make great family pets.  They are very loyal to those in his family, and still remain friends to everyone. The Siberian Husky has earned a reputation for being one of the friendliest and most people-oriented breeds around. Huskies were bred first and foremost to be a working dog, and these working instincts are a large part of their personality. Since the average Husky owner will not be using them to work, the husky needs to have other activities to keep them busy or they will get bored. They must have plenty of exercise and activities or they can revert to destructive behavior, such as, digging, chewing up anything they find. After looking at all characteristics of the Husky and this still sounds like the perfect breed for you. Remember this:  They have very  thick woolly coats that are beautiful to look at and snuggle up to but must be bushed and they will shed at least once a year. Also keep in mind they are very athletic so they love to run! FAST!  Best to have a fenced yard for them to run and play in. While Huskies will adapt to very cold temperatures, excessive heat may bother them.  No tolerance for heat and will succumb to heat stroke in a very short time so always make sure they have plenty of fresh water and shade.
